Lee Bakunin does the most remarkable programs, which he humbly calls, “gifting”. I’ve known Lee for about 10 years and have participated in at least that many of his programs, in groups large and small. In each instance, every person walked away from the program with a special and timely message. Lee works intuitively, putting together messages and objects from a huge variety of sources such as fortune cookie fortunes, books, small toys and tourist souvenirs. He follows his keen sense of how these objects should be distributed to the members of each group and then lets the program unfold. Then we met Lee Bakunin and his wife Patsy. Lee is a multi talented professional and speaker, and is planning on spending more time in Cape Town in a sort of part retirement. Patsy has spent time here before and they are looking forward to enjoying this part of the world.
Lee has been a member of the Phoenix Chapter of the National Speakers Association (American).
Lee’s presentation was about Giving, and we will put his article on the PSASA website for you to see in a few days time. To illustrate Giving to us, and to open discussions about generosity, sharing, being open to receiving and open to take advantage of opportunities, Lee gave every attendee of the meeting a gift, a most generous gift. All the members and all the guests received a special gift that was chosen for them. We were blessed with books, Native American products, awesome candies, jewelry and much more.

Our program today – GIFTING - is unique, fun and out of the box. Our presenter, Lee V. Bakunin, works spontaneously without a net or an agenda – there are no slides, handouts, charts, power-point or videos. It is not necessary to take notes, make a recording or take pictures. The only ingredient is You. For You are the Gift and You will leave with more than you came in with.
Lee’s presentation is experiential, blending the traditional with the mystical, the tried and true with the unknown, the possible with the improbable, the physical with the spiritual and the modern with the ancient.
A Yale graduate, attorney, former judge, author of two books on negotiation and prior Fortune 500 work experience, Leeappears to be most traditional and you’d expect a TED talk sophisticated presentation.
But if you look at the skeletons in his closet, you’ll find he has counseled psychics and astrologers, lived for a while in an Old Catholic Monastery, studied alternative medicine and danced with Sangomas in South Africa.
He is as comfortable in a corporate board room as in a Zulu rondaval, has shaken hands with Bill Clinton and Mickey Mouse, argued cases before the Arizona Supreme Court and spiritually cleansed a game lodge in Timbavarti, South Africa.
The balance in his life comes from being a card carrying member of NSA and PSASA, his wife Patsy (a dual citizen of the U.S. and South Africa), and a crystal in his pocket.

I am always touched by your thoughtfulness.
Tonight, I'd like to share a story that you played a role in unknowingly.
Before I moved to Germany, you gave me a bag of Native American items that you said would be gifts for the people I met. In Lee-Bakunin-gifting style, the owner, of course, is already connected to the gift and it's just a matter of time before he or she gets it.
It was my friend's birthday tonight. This friend has recently rocketboosted my career and it was his night to receive his gift. I gave him one of the medicine bags and as he opened it, he said memories came back from the Waldorf school he went to. What a beautiful thing. Thank you for making the magic happen.
Then, I closed 3 pending deals for the Fall with a big investor (that my friend referred me to). That's a great boost to my work week.
