Do It Yourself - Today
CATCHING ON
I let go of all that I was attached to
For what was I holding on to
Except my belief that I needed to
Have something to come back to
And something to look forward to
In my present state of wanting to
That I believed I was stuck to
Why did I wait so long to . . .
Catch on to
Everything I wished to
Be inside.
CHAPTER NINE: [THE POWER OF CREATIVE GENIUS]
THE POWER OF LETTING GO
How would you like to free the genie inside now? Or, if you’ve already released it, to enhance your Power of Creative Genius to be all you can be today and let go of your belief systems to capture the present.
Are you willing to invest 10 minutes of your time? Say YES!
OK!
REMOVE THE BLANK ENVELOPE FROM INSIDE THE BACK COVER
[iF READING THIS ONLINE, You will need a blank piece of stationery, card or paper plus a pen, envelope and stamp.]
You now have an opportunity to send a message to someone: your husband, wife or lover, to the Universe, yourself, a friend, anyone your heart desires.
Perhaps there is a letter you have been meaning to write for years—and have never given yourself the time or opportunity. You can give yourself this gift now, this moment. All you need to do is write the letter. All the materials are here—the stationery and stamped envelope. All that is missing is your input and willingness to free yourself to do it. It’s your written opportunity to change your thinking and allow your unsaid words to emerge.
Will you now give yourself the opportunity and gift of releasing the past and releasing the genie inside to write your dreams, forgive the past or take a step toward your wish?
SAY YES! I WILL DO IT NOW!
Waiting until later will delay your result because “later” is a word that withholds the ability to accomplish now. And you are a creative genius, aren’t you?
NOW GIVE YOURSELF 10 MINUTES TO COMPLETE YOUR LETTER. (You can use more time if you wish.)
DID YOU ADDRESS THE STAMPED ENVELOPE?
When you let go, you acknowledge your creativity to release the past and open the genie inside to create miracles in your life.
Letting go provides you with the opportunity of bringing new experiences to your doorstep, of allowing the past not to control your present actions and of allowing the gifts of the present to change your life.
Letting go is one of the most powerful ways to free the genie inside. You give yourself numerous possibilities by opening options to utilize your talents and resources. Being free allows you to use all the resources within the Universe to guide, assist and nurture you on your journey. To turn the "maybes" into "what is", to leave the hurt behind, to accept the gifts that are yours for the taking, to use your "being" to create a state of "doing".
Letting go is separating the wheat from the chaff, keeping what is needed and, with a gentle breath of kindness, blowing what is not needed away.
AFTER YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR LETTER, GO TO THE NEXT PAGE. [For those you online, just continuing reading below]
CONGRATULATIONS!
You have completed a letter that has already begun to change your life and is something that you have done for yourself.
WHAT WERE YOUR REACTIONS? (Emotions, feelings, thoughts):
WHAT DID YOU LEARN ABOUT YOUR PAST ACTIONS OR BEHAVIORS?
“It is never too late to become what you might have been”.

CHAPTER TEN
AGE IS NOT IMPORTANT
UNLESS YOU ARE A CHEESE
Too many of us are tied into the concept that life’s successes and failures, ups and downs, and correct social/political timing, are a function of age.
About two years ago, I had lunch with a financially successful, entrepreneurial friend, who was looking for her dream mate. She confided that a young lady thought she was perfect for her 61-year-old single father. My friend told the young lady that her father was too old.
As she and I talked, I asked her for her specifications. One was that the age range should be somewhere between 45—55 and her concern that men over 55 might not be as vibrant.
Incidentally, I had brought some spiritual gifts for her and created a special poem, which those looking for a life partner may find helpful. (You can change the gender as appropriate.) The poem read as follows:
“THE SEARCH FOR MY MISSING PARTNER”
He is there somewhere
Hidden from view,
Waiting to be found
And exposed to the one
He knows will free him
From his bonds of loneliness
And aching heart.
That’s his desire and your search
And your desire and his search.
You both ask Why?
If the Universe already knows
You both were meant for each other,
Why not now – Where is the magic answer?
The Answer is that a search
Is also a quest and a test
Requiring heart, soul and awareness
To Love yourself so much
And develop your senses
To reach the improbable
When it seems impossible,
So that he may appear
When you least expect it.
Be open to the possibility
That it is not going to happen
The way you dreamt it
And have the faith
To let go so you may catch on …
To the alchemist’s secret
Then I asked her how young she thought I was and she replied, “Oh, you’re in your early fifties, about my age”. When I told her that I would celebrate my 65th birthday in April, she looked surprised and said that I didn’t look my age. My retort was that her life partner might be even younger looking than I and, perhaps if she gave up the age requirement, she might open herself to the romance of the century. So what if her potential mate was in his 60s or 70s!
What has age got to do with when you will find your partner, make your first million, make that career change, write the book, appear on Oprah or win a Nobel Prize? Not a blessed thing, unless you are a cheese. The Universe is timeless and there is no commandment that limits wealth, power, joy, success, well-being or love to a prescribed chronological time. Creative geniuses are not time conscious, for they know that when the time is right, it will happen.
That’s one of the reasons I don’t wear a wrist watch. A traditional Native American medicine person or South African Sangoma can look at the sun and tell you what time it is. When it’s raining or windy, they can tell by looking at nature when it will stop. The fact is, we needn’t be bound by time and can run on our own internal clocks. Mine tells me I am young, so I never refer to myself as old.
I am still young enough to jump in a puddle, roll around in leaves and eat hot fudge sundaes at Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop with my grandson Josh. I am young enough to give a CEO a present of bubbles and a HUGG-A-PLANET® Earth with a wish to have a good day.
Here’s what I gave my friend looking for her mate. Besides the original poem, I gave her a pair of Buzz Lightyear Gloves made in Japan, a stick of Laffy Taffy, a new $1 bill, chocolate Hanukkah gelt (coins) from Israel, a bottle of Australian wine, a lapis lazuli heart from Africa, a red Christmas stocking with her name on it, two fortunes from Chinese fortune cookies and a card with a Native American woman looking to the sky with the inscription “May Your Dreams Come True”. To some of you, this might seem like a hodge-podge.
To a creative genius, these were spiritual gifts, a part of me wanting her to succeed in finding her true love, knowing that she was searching and suggesting that there should be no limitations as to geography or age. Without my knowing her requirements beforehand, she mentioned that she wanted someone who was worldly and it was an attribute she did not mention to many people. Once she finds him, these gifts are worldly, or certainly at least from different parts of the world.
I am positive she will meet this person once she lets go of her limitations, such as age. How do I know? By being willing to listen to her inner voice, she can remove the restrictions and create the energies to allow the Universe to deliver her request. That’s tapping into her Power of Creative Genius. Using my Power of Creative Genius, I put together the gifts for her in less than an hour before our lunch and asked my inner voice for guidance if there was anything I might do to help her.
As you develop your Power of Creative Genius, you will be able to tap into the Universe and all its wonders in a different way. Part of it is focus, part of it is being open, part of it is risk and part of it is intent. If you think you will fail, you will. If you believe you will succeed, you will.
How old do you have to be to go to college, ride a bicycle, read, play golf and tell stories? The answer is whenever you do it.
If a six-month-old child can hug, can’t that same child begin to talk or absorb a story, develop musical talent by listening to Mozart, or eat grown-up food? My mom took me off baby food at six months and said that I was eating hamburgers and adult vegetables. That action would probably be scorned by the AMA; however, the fact is that I was ready and there was no reason to hold me back.
Neither should youth have held back. Mozart composed music at age five, Shirley Temple made her film debut at age three, Warren Buffett sold Cokes at age six and began his investment career before age 11.
Age should not be a factor in dozens of octogenarians earning their first college degree or a 90-year-old making a first parachute jump. The late Al Ueltschi, the former chairman of Flight Safety, continued to fly his own plane in his 90's with a certified first pilot on board. Nobody told Colonel Sanders that he was too old to make fried chicken or Grandma Moses that she was too old to begin painting. At age 89, the legendary late Rose Blumkin, founder of the Nebraska Furniture Mart, sold 90% of her company to Berkshire Hathaway for 60 million dollars, though she had never learned to read or write. At age 100, she was actively working there 60 hours per week.
Of course, there are safety concerns, common-sense and governmental rules. None of you would put a parachute on a two-month-old and throw the child out of the plane.
As you develop your powers of creative genius, learn to let go of age, geography, disabilities or other limitations. Let your power mow down the obstacles put there by others who are the time-keepers or age watchers.
There is a Zimbabwe saying “If you can talk, you can sing; if you can walk, you can dance.”
I would add the following:
If you can talk, you can sing, you can become a recording star and sing at concerts all over the world.
If you can talk, you can become a teacher, motivational speaker or President of the United States.
If you can walk, you can dance, you can become a choreographer and start your own dance company.
If you can walk, you can run and become an Olympic athlete, climb Mt. Everest or start an athletic shoe company.
If you are a creative genius,
you are not a cheese.

Maybe you should too!
SELF CONFIDENCE FORMULA FROM FROM NAPOLEON HILL'S THINK AND GROW RICH.
(This is an arrangement of "positive thought impulses in stated in writing, memorized and repeated, until they become part of the working equipment of the subconscious faculty of your mind". It is most effective when done upon waking up in the morning).
1. I know that I have the ability to achieve my definite purpose in life. Therefore, I demand of myself persistent, continuous action toward it's attainment and I here and now promise to render such action.
2. The dominating thoughts of my mind will eventually reproduce themselves in outward physical action and gradually transform themselves into physical reality. Therefore, I will concentrate my thoughts for 30 minutes daily upon the task of thinking of the person that I intend to become. Thereby creating in my mind a clear mental picture.
3. I know through the theory of autosuggestion, any desire that I persistently hold in my mind will eventually seek some expression through some practical means of obtaining the object or position I desire.
4. I have clearly written down a description of my definite chief aim and I will never stop trying until I develop sufficient self-confidence for it's attainment.
5. I realize that no wealth or position can long endure unless built upon truth and justice. I will engage in no transaction that will not benefit all whom it effects. I will succeed by attracting to myself the forces that I wish to use and the cooperation of other people. I will induce others to serve me because of my willingness to serve them. I will eliminate hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness and cynicism by developing love for all humanity for I know that a negative attitude toward others will never bring me success. I will cause others to believe in me because I will believe in them and in myself. I will sign my name to this formula commit to memory and repeat it aloud once a day in full faith that it will gradually influence my thoughts and actions so I will become a self reliant and successful person.
The method by which DESIRE for riches can be transmuted into its financial equivalent, consists of six definite, practical steps, viz: First. Fix in your mind the exact amount of money you desire. It is not sufficient merely to say "I want plenty of money." First. Be definite as to the amount. (There is a psychological reason for definite- ness which will be described in a subsequent chapter). Second. Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you desire. (There is no such reality as "something for nothing.) Third. Establish a definite date when you intend to possess the money you de- sire. 24 NAPOLEON HILL THINK AND GROW RICH Fourth. Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action. Fifth. Write out a clear, concise statement of the amount of money you intend to acquire, name the time limit for its acquisition, state what you intend to give in return for the money, and describe clearly the plan through which you intend to accumulate it.
Sixth. Read your written statement aloud, twice daily, once just before retiring at night, and once after arising in the morning. AS YOU READ-SEE AND FEEL AND BELIEVE YOURSELF ALREADY IN POSSESSION OF THE MONEY. It is important that you follow the instructions described in these six steps. It is especially important that you observe, and follow the instructions in the sixth paragraph. You may complain that it is impossible for you to "see yourself in pos- session of money" before you actually have it. Here is where a BURNING DESIRE will come to your aid. If you truly DESIRE money so keenly that your desire is an obsession, you will have no difficulty in convincing yourself that you will acquire it. The object is to want money, and to become so determined to have it that you CONVINCE yourself you will have it.
